Tara Christie Kinsey ’97

Tara Christie Kinsey is the 8th Head of School at The Hewitt School, a K-12 independent school for girls in New York City.

Before arriving to Hewitt, Kinsey was an Associate Dean at Princeton University, where she worked at the intersection of Campus Life and the Office of the Dean of the College.  At Princeton, Kinsey taught in the English Department, served as an academic advisor, and oversaw Princeton’s first women’s mentorship and leadership program.

Kinsey specializes in modern and contemporary British and Irish literature. Her essays appear in The Oxford Handbook of British and Irish War Poetry, The Thomas Hardy Journal, and The Recorder: The Journal of the American Irish Historical Society.

Kinsey and her husband, Matthew Kinsey ’98, live in New York City with their two children and their English Labrador.
