Barbara Calanog Fortunato ’98

Barbara Calanog Fortunato has taught physics at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South in Princeton Junction, NJ since 2007. Fortunato has dedicated herself to not only teaching her subject matter effectively, but also to developing her students as moral, educated and inquisitive global citizens.  She realizes that her students need to balance physical, social, emotional and academic needs, and she works to create a classroom culture that supports students in developing life skills for the future.       Barbara stays active with the Princeton University community through the Program in Teacher Preparation. Through Teacher Prep, she has led STEM teacher development workshops (QUEST), taught the Inclusive Pedagogy Symposium for Freshman Scholars Institute (FSI), taught physics for the Princeton University Preparatory Program (PUPP), advised student teachers in science, and given talks to pre-service teachers on culturally responsive pedagogy.
