Sally Blount ’83

Sally Blount

Sally Blount is the Michael L. Nemmers Professor of Strategy and former dean (2010-2018) of the Kellogg School of Management. Blount is a director of Abbott Laboratories, Ulta Beauty and the Joyce Foundation. As dean, she launched and completed a seven-year plan to transform the school by: restructuring administrative operations and faculty governance, repositioning and strengthening the school’s degree portfolio, deepening global connectivity, and better leveraging Kellogg’s distinctive culture and thought leadership. Under her leadership, the team raised more than $375 million as part of the Transforming Together campaign and completed construction of a 415,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Global Hub. Blount is an internationally recognized thought leader in management and negotiation. Her academic research and unique perspective on business have been featured in both prestigious academic journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, the Negotiation Journal and the Academy of Management Review as well as top business news outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. She holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Northwestern University.
