Michelle Millis Chappel *84

Michelle is an internationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter, keynote speaker, coach, business consultant, and author. She has a Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Princeton and was voted Most Inspirational Professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Despite being called “crazy” by a few colleagues, she ditched academics to follow her dream to be a rock star.

Michelle’s songs have topped overseas and U.S. college radio charts and appeared in TV and film. She uses psychology and music in her talks to businesses, women’s organizations, and schools around the country to help thousands of people discover their superpowers and excel in work and life.

As CEO of Creativity Rock Star Consulting, she works with clients such as Google and Yahoo conducting innovation research and superhero seminars. Her book, “You Can Be Your Own Superhero,” comes out in 2019.

Women in the Arts Showcase

Thursday, October 4

Please join us for the Opening Reception and Women in the Arts Showcase to hear from a select group of alumni artists and student groups, and participate in interactive/collaborative creative activities. The Opening Reception will kick off in the New South tent at 6:30 p.m., followed by various performances, displays, and activities in the tent and the Lewis Arts complex beginning at 7:30 p.m. There will also be work by visual artists on display throughout the weekend at Maclean House.
