Courtney Banghart

The 2015 Naismith National Coach of the Year, Courtney Banghart is in her 12th season as head coach of the Princeton women’s basketball team. Named one of Fortune Magazine’s 50 Greatest Leaders in 2015, Banghart is the winningest coach in program history and has amassed a 232-93 (0.714) overall record with a 125-29 (0.812) mark against Ivy League opponents.

Inheriting a team that had never played in the NCAA Tournament, Banghart has led her squad there in seven of the last nine years, capturing six Ivy League titles. Her Tigers secured the best NCAA seed in Ivy history (No. 8) in 2014-15, and won the program’s first NCAA Tournament game in 2015. Princeton’s undefeated 30-0 regular season in 2014-15 was the best in Ivy League history, men’s or women’s, when they also earned the highest-ever ranking for an Ivy program, climbing to No. 13 in the AP poll
