Christa Weil Menegas ’82 has worked as an editor in New York City, Paris, and London (her current hometown) for fifteen years prior to writing her first book, on vintage fashion (Secondhand Chic in the US, It’s Vintage Darling in the UK).
She is currently working on a nonfiction book on how to encounter and experience the sublime — from the grand scale to the humble — in everyday life.
Fierce Food, her second book, which will be featured at the Fair, came about as a result of a dual interest in adventure sports and gastronomy. The book provides an armchair guide to 50-odd “delicacies” regularly eaten around the world, from the rotten to the six-legged to the mucosal to the deadly, if ill prepared. The book was warmly received by chefs and culinary adventurers but is perhaps best not consumed at mealtime.
