Aili McConnon ’02

Aili McConnon is the author of ROAD TO VALOR (Random House) about the Italian cycling legend Gino Bartali who secretly saved Jews in Italy during WWII. Road to Valor was a national bestseller, has been published in over 30 countries and is currently being developed into a feature film. Aili has appeared on NPR, The Travel Channel, CBS, CBC and ABC to discuss Gino Bartali’s story and Nobel Prize-winner Elie Wiesel described it as a “moving example of moral courage.”

Aili is also the co-editor of BLOOMING THROUGH THE ASHES: An International Anthology on Violence and the Human Spirit  (Rutgers University Press, 2008) which she created with the help of a Princeton ReachOut’56 fellowship.

Aili currently writes for the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal about business, health, science, start-ups and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing and virtual reality.
