Cathy Chute ’81

Cathy Chute

Cathy Chute is executive director of Harvard’s Institute for Applied Computational Science, home of master’s degree programs and a center for interdisciplinary work at the intersection of applied math, statistics and computer science. She also develops new educational programs with partners at Harvard University and with educational technology organizations. In addition, she teaches a business elective course on media management and marketing at Harvard’s Division of Continuing Education.   Previously, she was the publisher of Harvard Magazine and executive director of the Ivy League Magazine Network (including the Princeton Alumni Weekly) with responsibility for advertising sales, fundraising and digital development. Earlier in her career, Chute was a director of business development for The New York Times Company and a marketing manager in advertising sales and newspaper circulation. She has an MBA from the Yale School of Management and taught English and American culture as a Fulbright Teaching Fellow in France after Princeton.
