Angela Groves is a litigation associate at Relman, Dane & Colfax, a civil rights law firm based in Washington D.C. which represents plaintiffs in the areas of housing, lending, employment, public accommodations, education and police accountability. Prior to her current position, Groves served as a law clerk to the Honorable Solomon J. Oliver in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. She began her career as a high school social studies teacher and Teach for America corps member in Miami, Florida. Groves earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from New York University School of Law, where she was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar. At NYU, Groves participated in clinics providing death penalty defense through the Equal Justice Initiative, as well as defending children accused of crimes through the Legal Aid Society. Groves interned at the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc., Advancement Project, and the United States Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. Groves graduated with honors from Princeton and a certificate in African American Studies. She served as a Trustee of Princeton from 2012-2016. Groves is a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio.
