Allison Charney

Allison Charney has starred in dozens of leading roles in opera companies throughout the United States, and has been a soloist in performances at Alice Tully Hall, Avery Fisher Hall with the Philadelphia Orchestra and with the Boston Pops under the baton of Maestro Alan Gilbert. Charney is featured in the recording of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated oratorio CHOOSE LIFE and can be heard on the DSC Label in “Allison and Ben: For The Record.” An active recitalist and master teacher, Charney is co-creator, with pianist Donna Weng Friedman, of HER/MUSIC; HER/STORY; is a founding member of the ARK Trio who will release their first recording in 2019, following a residency at Macalaster College; and is the artistic director of PREformances with Allison Charney at Merkin Concert Hall. After receiving her B.A. from Harvard University, Charney earned two graduate degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins.
